The problem with fat, is that it got a real bad rap early on. And it’s false status as being the “bad guy that causes heart disease and obesity” was further solidified during the fat-free craze….and holy did we all pay for that!
Well, It’s taken a long time, but FINALLY the stigma of fat is slowly diminishing.
So here’s the real truth about fat…it’s completely fine to eat, as long as it’s part of a healthy diet. In fact, when properly included in your diet, fat plays an integral part in weight loss.
When you eat the proper amount of protein and lower your carb intake by eating the right types of (unrefined) carbs, your body naturally starts to shift your fuel source from carbs to fat. And that’s awesome, because it means that your body starts to utilize your stubborn body fat as the main fuel!
That’s what I mean by eating fat to lose fat.
Here’s another important tip you should keep in mind. When you eat a fairly high protein diet, you need to have adequate amounts of fat with it. You don’t need to eat lean to get lean. Just make sure that you curb your carbohydrate intake and stick to eating the right types of unrefined carbohydrate foods like vegetables, fruits and some tubers.
Fat doesn’t make you fat…if anything it’s refined carbs that does the most damage – making you fat as well as compromising your health. So make sure that you eat ample amounts of protein, stick to eating low to moderate amounts of (unrefined) carbs and include plenty of healthy fats…and turn your body into a fat burning furnace.
I hope this helps you on your journey to a healthier you!
