Red Cayenne Peppers

Red cayenne peppers contain capsaicin that gives them that kick. The chemical speeds up the heart and helps burn more calories and suppresses the appetite. Try adding these peppers to a salad or to your  (lean) hamburgers.  pepper-cayenne

7 Junk Foods that are Marketed as Healthy!

I am shocked by what most people believe are healthy foods.
As a health conscious Specialist,  I decided to go to the grocery store and see what people are purchasing and asked a few in the checkout line if they thought their choices were really healthy.
I know this was a tad rude but my heart was in the right place- after all I care about people and want them to be healthy.
However, a quick look in their cart revealed the following poor choices;
– Low Fat and Fat Free Foods
These are generally “bad” because any  “healthy” fats have are typically replaced with fattening sugar and processed garbage.  
Anytime you see “low-fat” or “fat-free” on a packaging it’s a red flag for a highly processed product that is probably loaded with sugar.
Swap out for full fat real foods like organic cottage cheese, grass fed raw cheese, and unflavored Greek yogurt.
– Over the counter Salad Dressings
Most are loaded with unhealthy ingredients like high fructose corn syrup, inflammatory oils, and even trans fats.
Swap for apple cider vinegar with real olive oil.
– Whole wheat bread
Has been shown to spike your insulin just as much as white bread.
There are also a few studies showing that today’s modern wheat can potentially cause inflammation and increased cholesterol levels[1,2].

– Breakfast cereals

There are a few rare exceptions, like swapping fresh squeezed non- pasteurized grapefruit juice (shown to improve insulin sensitivity), but
95% of all fruit juices are terrible for your health and belly fat.
